Don't cry because it's over...

... smile because it happened.

Happiness is a choice

Sometimes it's just too hard to keep the smile on your face. Bad things happen, people go away from your life or you make the wrong choices... In those occasions it seems imposible to imagine that there'll come a time when you'll be completely happy again. You're sad, there's nothing anyone can say to you that can make you feel better. But then, eventually, you realise that you're young, that you're living the best years in your life and that there's no point in crying over something that has no solution, or someone who's ust not worth your time, or your tears. There's no point in waisting a precious time that we can only live once. It's time to enjoy, to do things spontaneously, to fight for our dreams, as big as they may be. It's time to dye our hair a million colors, to go dancing until we can't stand on our feet, to be free, to FEEL free. It's time to start all the projects that we have in mind without worrying about what wolud happen if we failed, because if we don't take the chance, we'll regret when it's too late and there'll be no way back. If there's ever a time to get crazy  in this life IT IS NOW. It's time to leave the past in the past, seize the day and open your heart to whatever comes next.

Choose happiness and it'll choose you.

You're a teenager

You fall in love with somebody who might not even know your name. Your heart beats your brain. You feel bad about your body. You wake up either feeling on top of the world or crashing on the ground. You're lost and don't know which way to go. You say you like being alone, but you just want to have people close. You hate distance and music is the only one who understands you.

A random act of kindness

This is a little story about a common girl whose name was Love. Love had a boyfriend whose name was Sun; and they were very happy together. But suddenly, one day, Sun decided that his feelings for Love had changed and were no longer big enough so he let her go. That was terrible news for Love, who was deeply in love with that guy. She thought she could even die of sadness because her feelings for Sun were just too strong and would never disappear.

One day, she was on the bus back from the university and something happened. She was so busy looking at the window with her headphones on and her eyes crying bitterly that she didn't notice the boy standing a few metres apart, who was staring at her, curiously. Then, the bus stopped and the guy put a folded piece of paper on Love's lap and immediately got off. She took the note carefully, with such a big surprise that she didn't notice she had suddenly stopped crying. She read it: "If you cry because you can't see the moon, your tears won't let you see the stars. Whatever is your problem, give the world a beautiful smile. Signed: -Light. PS: sorry for the daring".

By the time she had finished reading, she had already lost him. She didn't know who that guy was, but he had been powerful enough to get her to smile with just a few words. "I need to find him she thought at least I ought to say thanks."

Happiness is...

...the smell that remains in the air after a rainy day.
...when the radio plays the perfect song in the perfect moment.
...New Year’s Eve.
...when someone smiles at you.
...a good book.
...watching the face of a friend when they arrive at their surprise party.
...spending an entire summer day at the beach, or a week, or a month…
...the beach.
...a giant group hug.
...singing your favorite song at the top of your lungs in a concert.
...crying tears of happiness.

#HeForShe

Last weekend, I discovered something that really caught my attention and that I spent most of my weekend on. As I am a huge fan of the actress Emma Watson, I knew she had recently made a speech at the UN, talking about feminism. Although this was an issue that I practically knew nothing about, I decided to look for a video of that speech to see what exactly she was talking about.

To my surprise I found out that, not only she had made a great performance in such a formal situation, speaking firmly and confidently,  but she’d also sent a very eloquent, complete, interesting, and most importantly:  inspiring message.

I got so impressed by this speech that I spent, like I said, the biggest part of the weekend watching it over and over again, and reading some very interesting articles about Emma’s speech and feminism in general. I also learned a lot about the HeForShe Campain and its goals and projects, for example they website they have created for men and boys to take action in a problem that, like Emma says, also includes them.

Therefore, I recommend you all to watch the speech and also, if you feel interested as well, go and visit the articles that I’ll link below.

A fresh start

Hello and welcome to my new blog :) My name is Five. Yes, like the number. Well, it's a little too obvious that that's not my real name and I'd like to clarify where it comes from. Five has always been my basketball number , and it became my lucky number and somehow, my identity. Therefore, I decided it'd be a good idea to adopt it as my nickname in this little adventure as I feel it represents me better than my actual name.
In this blog, I'll write about nothing in particular, my feelings, my likes and dislikes, my everyday life (mixed with a little bit of fantasy, because all stories are better that way).
